No I do not. My specialty is Cambria County only.
No, I recommend that you contact the Courthouse and Libraries for the counties you wish information about. They will be glad to point you in the right direction.
I am set up to accept only money order at this time. I will accept a personal check but it must clear first before I can do any work. I also accept cash but I do not feel it is a good idea to send money in the mail. Do so at your own risk!
Yes, however I need as much information as possible. A specific date or dates are required. Just saying "My Aunt won a spelling bee sometime in 1945" won't work. I need specific information "My Aunt Barbara Smith (maiden name) won the High School spelling bee at Johnstown High School on November 10th 1945" would be better. The more information you supply the greater chance of success.
The census was taken every 10 years, starting with the year 1790. Due to privacy laws census records are sealed for 72 years (In 2012, the 1940 census will be made public). If you know where your ancestor lived in a year ending in "0" from 1930 back to 1810 you can receive an actual page of the census in the census taker's own handwriting. These copies are made from microfilm.
Cambria County was established
on March 26, 1804, from parts of Somerset, Bedford and Huntingdon Counties. The
first census record available for Cambria County is 1810.
The 1890 census records for Pennsylvania were COMPLETELY destroyed in a fire!

However, you can refer to the Special Veterans Schedule if your ancestor was in
the civil war.

City Directories are a lot
like phone books. They contain listings of businesses and individuals, their
addresses, their phone numbers and whether one was an owner, renter or boarder.
City directory listings contain more than phone books do, however, such as
occupations, places of employment, and the names of others living in the same
household, such as spouse or adult children and whether a woman was a widow or
head of household.
Note as you can see some years are combined. Not all years are available due to
city directories having been lost in the 1936 and 1977 Johnstown Floods.
Johnstown City Directories cover primarily Johnstown City Proper and not the
outlying suburbs (northern part of the county).

Obituary notices have been published since August 10, 1801 to present (a few dates are not available). Also the local newspaper started charging for obituaries around 1944. It is possible that a family was either unable or unwilling to pay to place notice in the newspaper. If your request is found you will receive an actual copy made from microfilm.
There is also a free volunteer Obituary and Death notice Index for Cambria Tribune, Johnstown Tribune, & Tribune-Democrat, Johnstown PA. From 1853 to present. Note: This index was prepared by the tireless efforts of many outstanding volunteers. It is known to contain errors and omissions; and as with anything it is by no means all-inclusive. Just because you cannot find a listing in the index does NOT necessarily mean that a notice was not published. The only real way to know is to actually pull the microfilm and physically check it out.
No - I am unable to do so. However, I will be glad to supply you with contact information.
Because you can obtain valuable additional information from other sources; like obits, city and phone directories. This information includes but is not limited to: survivors, burial location, church they attended, photos, form of employment, property ownership, dwelling location, etc.
It is a know fact that there are more people with the following last names. This creates an extra hurdle in obtaining the correct information for one of these last names because of the greater number of them in records.
